An Extra Set of Hands

For the next two weeks, I am taking off my writer hat and becoming an extra set of hands for these little ones:

These sweet boys are fraternal twins born to dear friends of ours and I am claiming them as the first grandchildren of my heart. It's been a long time since I had little ones in my arms; my 'babies' are 17 and 20, one in college, one preparing to go to college.

These little ones are 10 days old and it's already clear to me they have different personalities. It's fascinating to watch.

Mom and Dad are exhausted and I'm doing what I can to offload things like cooking and laundry, making sure that whenever Mom is nursing, she is also drinking to keep up.

This is fair warning that for the next two weeks I'll be mostly spamming you all with sharing baby pictures. If I do any writing at all, it might be some short poetry.

Back to baby-duty!

  1. Congratulations on finding a pair of babies to love. When your kids are grown, this is so fulfilling! Especially since this time around you know what you are doing!

    1. :) It has been a total joy to be here with the babies and our dear friends. And yes, I'm a lot more relaxed now than I was as a new mother myself. How I wish I could travel back in time to tell that young lady a few things. :)
