I wrote an op ed piece on Kyrgyzstan for our local newspaper and it was published in this weeks edition. As I've said in other blog entries, it is my hope that I can show the human face of what is happening there.
Our friend, Emily, is currently in Bishkek (the capital) and was in Osh during the violence. She is an anthropology graduate student doing research on language and culture and her thoughts are here.
I am currently visiting with my parents, out of town, and may be a bit on the quiet side.
