"What do you do?" "Why, I'm a writer."

I can't give out the details yet, but I got the most wonderful phone call today. One of the calls that any aspiring novelist dreams about.

Today, I was offered representation by a wonderful literary agent with a well respected agency. I have been jumping up and down and my hands have been shaking for hours. (Though I think I sounded professional and fairly relaxed on the phone. I hope!)

After 2 1/2 years of queries and rejection letters, I am one step closer to publication.

I'm in the process of speaking with several of this agent's clients--finishing my 'due diligence' as it were--but as soon as I have a signed contract, I'll spill all the specifics and give you all the nitty gritty details.

Tonight is the time for a champagne toast and celebration.

Tomorrow, I get back to work. Books just don't write themselves.
