for MindBlind. For about the twelfth time, I've reworked the query and I think I finally have the hook and the mini-synopsis down. Honestly, writing the $#@!! query letter is harder than writing the book. I think I'd rather have root canal. (And I've *had* root canals--three of them. Bad dentistry as a kid--don't ask.)
I'm hopeful that this time's the charm. It's a strong story with strong characters. There were times last year when I wanted to scrap the whole thing, many times where I had to backtrack, tear the plot apart, and rebuild it. Now I have a novel I am very proud of.
One that will find its place on the bookshelves. One of these days.
