I'm at nearly 115K of "The Wings of Winter" and I am hoping to finish in under 120K. I'm concerned that if it gets much longer, I'll either have to break it up into two novels or slash and burn to bring it in closer to 100K.
For now, I'm committed to telling the story in as many words as are needed for completion. I am hopeful that its length will not get in the way of having the manuscript read by an agent.
I spent a few hours reseraching agents and came up with a list of about half a dozen likely candidates, including one who is also (like me) a U of R graduate. According to his bio, he worked on his yearbook and the school's literary journal, as did I, only several years before he got there.
